Recipe: Momo (Dumpling)

I am going to share my favourite dish with you all. I am crazy for this dish and love to have it anytime. I prepare this at home often and it is not so tough to make it.
Momo, is a type of dumpling native to the Newa people of Nepal. It is similar to Mongolian buuz, Chinese jiaozi, or Central Asian manti, closely related to Russian pelmeni, German Maultaschen or Italian Ravioli. The Tibetan word Momo is a loanword from the Chinese mómo.

Ingredients:

1.White flour (Maida) -3 small cups.
2.Onion -1-2 pieces.
3.Green chillies- 3-4 pieces.
4.Ginger.
5.Garlic.
6.Spring onions(optional).
7.Chicken/Mutton minces.
8.Pepper to taste.
9.Salt to taste.
10. Refined oil.

Procedure:

Take Maida in a bowl ,add salt and a bit of oil , then make it into a dough. It shouldn't be very watery as well as not so hard. Once its done keep it aside for almost 20 minutes.Chop Onion,Greenchilli,Ginger n Garlic into very small pieces. Cook the chicken/mutton minces well. Take a frying pan,put some oil. Add the onion first and a pinch of salt and keep stirring it till the rawness goes off, then put the chopped Ginger,Garlic,Pepper and Chillies. Finally once its done put the Chicken into it.Stir well and put some Soyasauce(optional but its good if you put). Also add salt as required.

Now take the dough and make small discs, then roll out. It should be small in shape with a diameter of 10-12cm's. Then take this small dumplings and stuff the Chicken mixture into it and attach both the ends of the dumplings nicely. This dumplings can be made in different shapes. Now its time to cook it. Actually you will get the utensil to cook this dumplings in the market. So if you have the dumpling maker then put this dumplings inside it n cook it for some 20 minutes and it will be done. You can also try to make this in idli maker. I have a momo maker, so it is very easy for me to prepare. Don't overcook, else you will miss its actual taste.
Take out the Chicken dumplings and serve hot with Chilli/Tomato sauce.
